"Why take notes... you can get AI to do it?"

That's a modern question... but gets an old fashioned response

I will answer why I do in sales and coaching calls

๐Ÿ”ถ Aid thinking

It helps me to think when I write stuff down

It means it has to pass through my brain first so I'm considering what I'm actually making notes of

๐Ÿ”ถ Picture worth a thousand words

I'm a visual thinker.

Quite often I will draw a picture which helps me make sense of what people are saying

๐Ÿ”ถ Slow down

It slows me down

In doing so it means that the other party can continue to talk

I don't want to miss information that they are thinking about

๐Ÿ”ถ I hear you

It shows I'm listening

Rather than just staring at the person letting the AI do all the work when I'm taking notes, people know that I'm actually paying them attention

Not all meetings are held in the virtual virtual environment.

Some are still old school, where I need to capture the information this way

I don't want to lose the habit

Hopefully this is useful for people as they develop their own meeting skills

Above all let's remember why we are having meetings
