"Good people doing good things in a good way"

This is a phrase I often use during podcasts, webinars, keynotes - pretty much any time I’m speaking

On the surface, it’s about having the right person doing the right activity to achieve the right outcomes - a sales manager's dream

But there’s a deeper meaning

It’s about having inherently decent people who genuinely care about their customers. It’s about ensuring their actions make a real impact. And it’s about their approach - being both effective and honest.

This theme has been central to my work over the years

In my first book, Selling Through Partnering Skills, the core message is to ‘think like a partner,’ advocating a more collaborative approach

My second book, Hybrid Selling, emphasises the need for salespeople to integrate various elements into their operations to be genuinely valuable to the customer

Now it's time to take this onto the next phase

How?

With the orange hat of course

🟠 Orange Hat Thinking 🟠

To succeed salespeople must adapt and embrace the most effective ways to work with today’s customers

A key part of this is adopting an ethical approach

It’s not just about being a good person; it’s about doing what actually works

Ethical Selling involves honesty, transparency.and integrity, focusing on the best interests of the customer (and society)

The ETHICAL model captures best practices for engaging customers today:

🔶 Empathetic Communication

- Engage in active dialogue to understand customer needs

🔶 Transparency and Integrity

- Operate with honesty and provide accurate information

🔶 Holistic Value-Centric Approach

- Prioritise customer value and desired outcomes

🔶 Informed Decision-Making

- Ensure customers can make decisions with the right information

🔶 Collaborative Relationship Building

- Think like a partner to build deeper relationships

🔶 Adaptive Negotiation

- Approach negotiations ethically for win-win outcomes

🔶 Learning and Growth

- Embrace continuous learning to stay informed and improve

In my latest book - that has just gone to beta readers - I explore how to apply these principles to achieve results in the way customers want us to work with them

My questions to you:

- Are you a good person?

- Do you want to do good things?

- Do you want to act in a good way?

If so do you fancy bring part of the 'Launch Squad'?

Can't tell you exactly what this entails - top secret - but if you'd like to go on the list for info reply 'GOOD' to this email
